Delete or Override is not working

    Hello,
    I used wpdownloadmanager and it was good. However, after searching for better solutions, I found your plugin. It feels better after I test it. However, when I upload the same file with the same name, it creates a duplicate, adding -1, -2, -3, etc. If the name of the file is the same, why can’t it override it? Alternatively, if this cannot be done, then when we delete a file, it should be removed from the uploaded folder, so we can upload the same file again. Although I deleted the file, I still see it there and cannot upload a file with the same name since it is creating a duplicate.

    can you help me with this?

    @lahorimela – first off, congratulations on making a better choice ??

    Second – could you please walk me through exactly your process? Where are you uploading the new file so that it adds -1, -2 & -3 ?

    Where are you deleting it from?

    If you’re managing it from the Media Library, I’m afraid that’s just how the Media Library works and it’s not something DLM has complete control over.

    Hey @lahorimela ,

    Thanks for the info, really helpful. That functionality is on it’s way ( you can have a look at its progress here ), won’t be long until it will appear in Download Monitor. Until then you’ll need to go to Media Library, search the file and delete it from there.

    Hello @lahorimela ,

    Most probably will be available with plugin version 4.7.5, as version 4.7.4 will contain mainly bug fixes. I can’t tell you when exactly will 4.7.5 be launched, most probably in about 2-3 weeks, but depends on how everything works out.

    Hello Xaib,

    Haven’t released this feature yet as we’ve focused on issues that needed more attention. We’re going to release a new update next week, and if time and efforts allow us we’ll try to include this feature in that release, else we’ll have to push it to the next one.

    I saw that you guys update the plugin and you added this option

    Added: Delete files when Version or Download is deleted ( #1034 )

    When i try this to delete file. Its not working, file is still there.

    Hello @lahorimela ,

    Did you add the filter add_filter( 'dlm_delete_files', '__return_true' ); in your child theme’s functions.php as specified in the github ticket? We have not enabled it by default in order to protect users that do not want to delete the files upon deleting a Version or a Download.
