    Hello, dear Reader,

yes I read it: Think before you make a post here.

Unfortunately, 2 years ago I didn’t know that my strange link which I posted here as I wanted to correct it now is kind of a link to my website. For some reason it is well noticed and I get a lot of ‘error pages’.

Therefore I am asking now: Is it possible to delete the post or at least write the link in a way that it doesn’t work for backlinks?

Thanks a million for understanding and help.

It is not the general policy to edit or delete forum posts. When a post is made and people contribute answers to an issue, that then becomes part of the community resource for others to benefit from. Deleting posts removes this added value. In extreme circumstances, the moderation team might be persuaded to remove sensitive information but. generally, your best course of action is not to publish anything that you wouldn’t want to be public.

I’m sorry but this is not an extreme case.

Thank you for declaring me stupid or better unable to read!

I totally agree with the statements regarding posting. But when the post hurts my blog I am really not happy. Unfortunately this happened. That you will support this, really awakes my astonishment. I expected a little bit of what is called “humanity”.

OK – you will quote: “Ignorance does not protect against punishment.”

I know it can be annoying that WordPress volunteers won’t change it, but why would increasing your website’s SEO scope damage it? I assume it appears in Google search results with particular keywords.

Point is that due to the ‘strange’ link that I posted here and wanted have to correct it, now increases my ‘404’ error page…

This ‘stupid’ site comes up as a broken link… not really nice.

BTW – still until today I don’t know what happened.

Anyhow looks as if I have to live with it……
