  • Accounts are not deleted, not even for obvious spammers. If you don’t want to use the forums anymore, log off and don’t return.

    My username is tied to my name, I ask that you delete it, or at least change my username.

    Oh come on, log into the database, find the user row and change the username field. I simply want to protect my privacy and remove my name, I am not asking for anything out of the ordinary. But I think it’s a basic thing for a user to be able to remove his personal details and keep his privacy.

    When esmi says ‘we cannot do that’ what she means is ‘We do not have the technical ability to do that.’ The mods and admins here don’t have SQL access.

    Besides, even if we change your userID, you’ll still show up on Google Searches for a long time, because they’ll have been archived with the user name you used at the time.

    Long time is not forever, eventually it goes away. This is very important to me, I have been harassed online. Can you ask someone who does have an access please?

    What does a user has to do to get his details of the server and his account closed/renamed? Spam all over the forum? Just delete me.

    As we’ve explained, we cannot do that. I’m now closing this thread as continuing the discussion no longer serves any purpose.
