Delete "Home" Page Title Text Off Of Home Page

  • Here is the current website. https://www.courtneydbryant.com/ I want to only remove the “Home” text at the top off the paragraph as it looks redundant on the front page. I would like to keep the the titles on the other pages.

    I’ve tried theme options but it never gave me the option unfortunately and I understand child themes. Just need help with this specific theme I downloaded which is “Bushwick”.

  • Hey there,

    You can simply edit the homepage in wp-admin and erase the title “Home” and put a space in the title then save the page. It will now have a blank title. Let me know if you have any questions

    I tried this but now the Home link on the website menu says “#57 (No Title)” so it looks like its pulling the page title info from the actual menu name.

    oh thats ok..it removed “home” from the page like you wanted. Now you just go to the Menu settings and remove “Home” from the menu and add the homepage as a Custom link and name it “Home”

    Or rather move “57 no title” from the menu and add “Home” as a custom link..

    One more question. Now that my site is showing up in Google (I submitted XML sitemaps), it has a dash in front of the main title of it when I see it on the Google SERP. I’m assuming that this is so since I left the homepage title purposefully blank. I’m also using Yoast SEO. Anyway to get rid of the dash?

    Ah ..if I remember correctly that SEO plugin will allow to to input titles and meta information for pages and site. That should take care of the problem. Otherwise, you may have to deal with it or look into a plugin that hides titles on front end instead of doing the method above.
