• Hi guys,

Especially for the customer I created a role named revisor, which is a bit like the author role: that person can create a post and edit that and also upload files to integrate images in the content.

The customer called me up and asked me, if it is possible for the revisor to delete the images he or she uploaded? I can’t find any delete files capability.

In the thread https://www.role-editor.com/forums/topic/delete-upload-files-permission/ you guys mention the “Force custom post types to use their own capabilities” checkbox. Unfortunately I can’t find the checkbox. Is it a PRO feature, because I use the free version Version 4.51.1?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Generally, user should be capable edit and delete post to which media library item is attached. WP checks ‘edit_posts’, ‘edit_published_posts’, may be ‘edit_others_posts’, if image was uploaded by other user or attached to the post of other author. ‘delete_posts’ and ‘delete_published_posts’ are needed to delete own Media Library item if it’s attached to users’ own post.

Option you have mentioned is related to a Pro version only.
