Delete events without administrator

Is there a mechanism for an approved user (such as author) to self-delete their events without the administrator? At the moment, when the user tries to delete their events on the Edit page, these events move to the ‘pending’ menu which is very confusing. Then, the administrator must empty the trash in the Dashboard. I would like the user to delete their events directly without involving the administrator.
