I have 328 duplicates becuase I let my wife near this plugin

When i click on the show duplicates button at the top of the page, I get all the duplicates with buttons, delete from database. However when i click on one of these, the page just refreshes and it doesnt delete the duplicates.

Is there another way of doing this, in bulk maybe. Becuase even if the button worked it would take me a long time to delete al duplicaates from the database

    Cheers

    Hello @albertramsbottom

Sorry to hear about that. We have only had one other user come to us with this problem before. The “Remove from database” button has always worked for all other users when duplicates existed. So it is likely that the issue here is that they were deleted from the database beforehand.

With that said, there are a couple ways to delete duplicates more quickly. I’m sorry but we can’t provide some sort of bulk or automatic removal of duplicate listings because WP-Lister can’t decide which duplicates to remove. Yes, we could improve the user interface somehow, add check boxes to tick and one button to remove all those that were ticked. But you could simply hold the <alt> key (on Mac, or right click on the “remove” button then select open in new tab for Windows) and click on each Remove button, which will open the link in a new tab, so you can click on all the buttons without having to reload the page, and compared to doing it that way, check boxes and a “remove all selected” button wouldn’t save a single click.

There is another way to handle this (and better if there are many duplicates for a couple listings). Simply visit the edit product page of the product which you’d like to remove, select “View in WP-Lister” from the admin toolbar and you’ll see all the duplicates on that page.

Now tick the topmost checkbox to select all items, and then use the “Move to archive” bulk action, then delete them from the archived section of WP-Lister using the bulk action drop down menu again. This has the same effect as archiving all duplicates from the list of duplicate SKUs, but it’s much quicker.

    Kind regards,
    John

    Hello again.

Excuse the last part of my previous message where I said:

Now tick the topmost checkbox to select all items, and then use the “Move to archive” bulk action, then delete them from the archived section of WP-Lister using the bulk action drop down menu again. This has the same effect as archiving all duplicates from the list of duplicate SKUs, but it’s much quicker.

I thought this was for WP-Lister for eBay, for Amazon you will want to follow these instructions:

Now tick the topmost checkbox to select all items, and then use the “Delete from Database” bulk action. This has the same effect as deleting all duplicates from the list of duplicate SKUs, but it’s much quicker.

    Kind regards,

If you could tell us how those duplicates were created in the first place, I’d gladly fix whatever issue was responsible for that – because in theory it shouldn’t be possible to create duplicates at all.

To delete duplicates more quickly, I would hold the command key while clicking each remove button, which will remove the item by opening a new tab. This way the page won’t refresh and you won’t have to scroll to the next item. Yes, the UI for this isn’t very polished, but that’s because it shouldn’t be possible to create duplicates in the first place.

I’m going to close this for now, but if you can tell us how to reproduce the problem of creating duplicates, please let us know and we’ll gladly fix that bug.

We are not sure but it may have been someone being impatient and pressing the add to Amazon button more than once or maybe refreshing the page

    Hey @albertramsbottom.

If you are able to find out how to recreate this, please let us know with step by step instructions so we can test it on our end.

    Kind regards,
    John
