    Hi,

I’m looking to change the Mailchimp list that my shop is currently pointing too when someone checks out.

I understand that under settings, the list option is greyed out so I cannot change it. After some research, it seems frustratingly that I have to deactivate and delete the plugin.

So I followed the instructions from here

    https://kb.mailchimp.com/integrations/e-commerce/connect-or-disconnect-mailchimp-for-woocommerce

And deactivated the plugin, then deleted it.

I then went to plugins and added it as a new plugin

When I activated it, all the data was still there, meaning the list option was still greyed out etc.

Is this a problem with the plugin deactivation not tidying up the database or have I missed a step

Any help would be appreciated as I need to switch to a new list ASAP

    Thanks for any help

    Regards

    Darren

    Hi Darren,

Hi there, we’re happy to help. Just to get a handle on the situation you’re experiencing, could you provide a few more pieces of information to help us understand the issue?

    – What plugin version are you running?
    – Is your site self-hosted, or is it a wordpress.com business account?
    – What version of WooCommerce are you running?
    – Is there any logging errors in the plugin’s logs tab (when it’s set to standard or debug)?

Thanks in advance for these details. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

    Hi Kyle,

    Please find details here:

    Plugin version: 2.1.7
    Self Hosted
    Woocommerce verstion: 3.3.5

Currently nothing in the log files

Just to add, I’m running a multisite set up, so the shop site on is a different domain.

Is it possible that the deactivation just goes through the tables of the non-shop site as that is all its aware of? If so, what data would I need to remove from the shop tables?

    Thanks for your help

    Best regards

Hi Darren, I’ve confirmed that this is the behavior happening in my multisite testing environment as well. I’ll log this as a bug right away and see what we can get done. Appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

    Hi,

I was just wondering if there was an update on a fix for this one?

Also, on a local environment, I’ve been able to change the list selected by editing a couple DB field entries to point to a new list.

    In _options

Editing fields – ss_wc_mailchimp_list and editing the entry in mailchimp-woocommerce

Is this something I can do short term to get us over to a new list?

    Best regards

Hi @int3rc3ptor, we’ve got a patch issued for this in our next release. I don’t have a definitive ETA for the rollout, but it should sometime soon after it passes internal QA. Appreciate your patience with this, stay tuned.

Hi @int3rc3ptor, just wanted to let you know that the latest plugin update rolled out today (2.1.8) and should address the problem you had. Please reach back out if you see any lingering issues, happy to help anytime.

    Hi Kyle,

Thanks for keeping me informed on the rollout, much appreciated.

I updated the plugin on our installation, then proceeded to de-activate then delete it.

Upon re-installing it, I found all config data to still be there, so unfortunately for us it hasn’t solved our issue.

Any advice on next steps, appreciate this is a free resource, but would you or anyone else be available to jump on and have a look at what we have?

    Best regards

@int3rc3ptor just so we know exactly how to test this issue, are you deactivating and uninstalling from the actual subdomain or are you doing it in the network?

    Thread Starter int3rc3ptor

    (@int3rc3ptor)

    Hi Ryan,

Deactivating from the subdomain (cannot delete any plugin on the subdomain)

Deleting and re-installing plugin from the Network Admin

    Then activating on the subdomain.

    Best regards

@int3rc3ptor just wanted to get back to you on this issue – we’re adding this to our current workload and will keep you posted on the fixes for multisite uninstalls as soon as we get done with our next development cycle.

If you feel comfortable doing a manual quick fix – just delete all wp options starting with mailchimp-woocommerce% and that should help you start from scratch again.

    Hi Ryan,

Thanks for your continued help with this, I’ll keep an eye out for the new version.

I have tried the brave route deleting the _options entries on a dev environment after deactivating/deleting/reloading the plugin and can concur it allows me to start from scratch again.

I’ll give it a go on our live environment later and hopefully that’ll do the trick! I’ll report back if successful.

On another note, how’s your knowledge on webhooks?

    Best regards

    Darren
