• Hello,

I have a question. Is it possible to extend the Plugin with one or more feature requests?

1.) Delayed Transfer / Stop processing
I would like to have the possibility to transfer new article with a delay. For example if there where a mistake with the permalink. In that case it would be possible to stop the transfer to Steemit. After correction of the mistake I would manual resend the article.

    2.) Shortlink
Additional it would be fine, if SteemPress would use the shortlink as URL and the permalink as Text. It’s much more easier to unterstand permalinks for human and search bots. However, it is possible that there is a mistake and the old URL show after correction only 404 error message. The shortlink is still the same.

I mean with Shortlink for example WordPress URL shortener. It is possible to replace Wordpess URL Shortener with YOURLS / Bitly or whatever.

3.) button to transfer article to Steemit
I find the possibility to transfer older article to Steemit, which is nice for many article – however, it would be fine to have a button directly by the article (edit-view).

    best regards
    Andyt

    Hello,

I have a question. Is it possible to extend the Plugin with one or more feature requests?

We are constantly expanding the plugin’s feature so feature suggestions are always welcomed ??

    1) What do you mean by “mistake with the permlink” ?
The ability to see and stop the transfer and the delay are on our todo list, although it’s not a priority so I can’t really give you a date for when it’ll come.

    2) So you’d want to have shortlinks instead of the full link on the “posted from my blog” line ?

    3) It’s planned ??

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

    Thank you for your answer.

1.) Thats nice to hear ?? To explain “mistake with permalink”…
In my case, my permalink look like “https://blog.blackseals.net/2017/08/19/unterwegs-im-mazda-mx-5-nc/”. The title of the article is included in the URL.

If there is a mistake with the title it is strange to correct only the title and not the URL. That isn’t often, but sometimes occurs by strange software which was used to publish.

Additional there are some special signs in the title (I live in Austria and we use in German for example “?”, “?” or “ü” which should be “ae”, “oe” or “ue” and not only “a”, “o” or “u”)

A URL should look like https://blog.blackseals.net/2015/08/19/wordpress-4-3-verfuegbar/
    => /wordpress-4-3-verfuegbar/ should not be /wordpress-4-3-verfugbar/
Sometimes it look crazy if some special signs stay together.

After correction of the URL, the old one would show 404 error message. Therefore a delay is fine to stop transfer, correct the url and send the article to Steemit. If the transfer was before correction, the article on Steemit will show wrong URL.

2.) Yes, thats correct. Showing permalink, but using shortlink. In that case, a change for the URL will don’t produce an error message.

Sometimes there is some correction direct after publishing (finding mistake a little bit too late ?? ). That is explained at 1.).

After some weeks, months or a year, it is possible that there is a correction of the url or different permalink structure. The shortlink still work, but not the old permalink. Therefore this feature request.

3.) Also nice to hear ??

4.) I have a new additional suggestion. Would it be possible to extend the tags for every article. I mean also if the article has already one or more tags.

I’m not an expert with Steemit (started for a week), but it look like the first tag will be used for the category on steemit. I mean trending. It would be nice to set that value. If it’s easy to do with a setting for each category or if not one setting for all (categories) is also fine for me.

I would use that to extend to publish the article always in “Deutsch” or better extend every article with that tag.

    best regards, Andyt

    Hello howofr,

Are there any response to my answer?

Hello ! Sorry we’ve been very busy lately.

    1)

I see, well the delay feature is coming. In the meantime I suggest that you edit the post yourself after it was submitted to steemit.

    2) Added to our todo list ! This feature will come soon (aka 1-3 weeks) as it’s way easier to implement.

    4) Aah I see, why not although we’ll have to discuss this internally because it will be a little confusing for users.

    Hello howofr,

    Thank you for your answer.

    4) Yes, I understand your consideration. Maybe it’s possible to add a field in the settings under “Default tags” with the name “Add the following tag”?

I see an additional problem to this feature request. Steemit only support 5 tags. That is really a low number. If someone (like me) will add an additional tag like “Deutsch” and the article have already five or more tags (which is in many situation), then it is hard to choose for the software which tags should be removed, so it is possible to add the additonal tag…

    Hello howofr,

According to the last version it is possible to add “Default tags” to every transmit. Really nice – Thank you.

Also it is possible to delay the transmit to SteemPress. According to the description – it is only possible to use one day and not for example 10 minutes. Is that correct or did I unterstand that in a wrong way.

    regards, Andyt

    You’re welcome ??

Not exactly one day but yes the granularity is set that the minimum is one day. You can set more if you want.

On a side note this won’t solve your permlink problems as we just store the first version of the article and then publish it when the timer runs out.

    Hello howofr,

I want to use less than one day. Something like 5 or 10 Minutes and not one day. However, someone will use that feature for the own needs…

    Hello,

It has been edited to a minute granularity.

    Hello,

Thank you for your information. That is nice to know. I changed my settings.

After that, I found a further problem for that. I don’t see coming article – i mean a schedule view to see which article will be send to Steemit. Only with that it is possible to stop the transmit and check if the article is already scheduled.

    kind regards, Andyt

    Hello,

I told you that it wouldn’t solve your specific use case, in the future we’ll have a dashboard where you can control your scheduled posts but not yet.

    Martin.
