Delayed Authentication Fatal Errors

I seem to be able to authenticate just fine. And then after a period of time if i try to visit the plugin settings page i get the following fatal error

from here i am not able to re-authenticate or do anything really. my only choice is to log-in to the wordpress DB and delete the 2 keys that the plugin adds to wp_options. then i can re-authenticate… at least until the problem crops up again.
