definitely worth the effort

If you’re new to Amazon web services, it can be a little laboursome to get set up, but it’s worth doing so early in the piece. The more data you have being served from S3, the more responsive your website will be over-all. You WP hosting provider is likely not able to compete with the distributed high bandwidth delivery of Amazon. I recommended installing a copy of “S3 Browser” on your desktop to do all the testing for your Amazon account. I created a dedicated user to assign to my wordpress installation (for this plugin). In the end I gave up trying to assign the most secure policy to said user and just gave it “Power User” from the list of policy presets. Just test test test with S3 browser before even attempting to set up this plugin. Make sure you can upload using said credentials. This is really the only way to go for large media-intensive sites. Great if you’re serving video directly from wordpress. Saves you money on bandwidth since S3 is cheaper than your WP hosting service!
5 stars ??
now need to see if I can delete already uploaded files stored on my WP host. Would be good to manage that from this plugin.
