• I’m disappointed that this plugin has basically been abandoned. It’s been quit helpful before I upgraded to WP 4.7, and now I just get a blank screen when I try to make a backup. I suppose we can’t expect from a free plugin…

  • Dear advantagen: the plugin has NOT been abandoned and definitely DOES work with WP 4.7. The issues relate to hosting platforms and size of the installation, as noted in the plugin description. If you post your hosting details and size of installation here it will be helpful to us in isolating the problem.
    thanks,

Well that’s good to hear …I guess. Haha, I mean, it’s good to hear that it at least works for other people.

When you say ‘size of the installation’, do you mean to ask how much data the plugin is backing up?

As for the host, I use a level 3 VPS at Hostwinds.com It has 1.5 cores, 3GB of RAM (3.5 burstable), 75GB of disk space, and 300Mbps transfer speed.

I’ve used this plugin on several sites with at least 2 different web hosts, and it always worked before and now it never works on any of them, which is what led me to the conclusion that it was due to incompatibility with newer versions of WordPress. So if you have suggestions on to potentially go about resolving the issues, I’d be happy to hear them.

    dear advantagen:
glad to hear that it’s worked for you before. ALmost all problems are linked to php timeouts which are depended on host configuration parameters and the size of the site, which is a general problem with all plugins that are run from the dashboard (as opposed to cron or ajax). If you can post your failure details here it might help us to improve the product. I appreciate your support.
    best,
    Marc

Hi, I have the same problem, the last bkp is 02/02/17, from that date onwards the bkp fails to finish the procedure, shows the page 404, and in the bkp folder instead creates a TMP files of the same size as the bkpP, impossible to open or recover. Host in Nominalia
