  • Changing colors on existing themes isn’t my cup of tea, and I think most people will download your theme and change the colors/graphics to their liking anyways.

So releasing the same theme in different colors doesn’t provide a lot ..

    My $0.02..

    Regards

I don’t know about that, Cypher. Sure, some of us have enough css chops to get into the guts of the theme and change the colors necessary, as I did with the theme I’m using. However, a lot of new WordPress users can barely get the thing installed, much less monkey around with the css. I think nikynik is providing a useful service to the less savvy users. Cheers!

I actually like it, but I have to agree with Cypher. My theme is a hack of Wuhan, which is based on Kubrick. All I did was (mostly) change graphical elements and colors to make it extremely unique.

I like it, too, but I have to agree with brainwidth. Just look around in the forum and you’ll see tons of questions like “how do I change that blue thing at the top?”; “how do I change the color of my links?”; “how do I change the bgcolor of my sidebar?”… etc. which means a lot of new users start with minimal CSS skills. For those who want to learn just downloading the two themes and comparing the stylesheets – it’s a huge step ??
