    Hi Héctor,

With the last few updates we have been unable to successfully upload a default thumbnail.

When going through the process we finish the upload (trying many different confirmed images in the media library as well as from desktop) but it never gets submitted in the WPP “Tools” section. It always defaults back to the “No Thumbnail” WPP grey box image.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Hi there, long time no see!

Another user reported this as well but I’m unable to reproduce the bug, hence can’t tell what might be wrong since it works for me. The only way to find out is see the issue myself, but for that I’d need access to the site.

    Hey Hector, thanks for responding.

I hear you on the need to be hands on to figure it out, much easier. Unfortunately, my client won’t let me give access for security reasons.

Would you have any general ideas that i can look into myself..like analyzing a particular section of the database? Is there a manual way to define the default image within the plugin database rather than through the interface.

    Thanks as always!

    I understand, no problem.

The issue is not related to the database, it’s more a Javascript thing. Could you please tell me the exact steps you’re following to trigger that error?

Yep, quite easy actually: just replace the default no_thumb.jpg image in wp-content/plugins/wordpress-popular-posts with your own.

    Hi Hector

    I’m having the same problem.
The other user’s steps are exactly identical to my scenario.
However, I do get an error in the console:
    "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - https://dev.linux.ort.org.il/kamoha/wp-admin/undefined"
And I’d like to ask regarding the last advice you gave the original poster:

replacing the default no_thumb.jpg image in wp-content/plugins/wordpress-popular-posts with my own.

But wouldn’t that get overridden on plugin update?

    Thank you!

    Hey Lea!

I still haven’t managed to reproduce that issue (actually, I had totally forgotten about it until now). Could you maybe record a video and upload it somewhere so I can see what’s going on?

And yes, the thumbnail would be overwritten after each plugin update (I probably should have mentioned that back then).

    Hi

I can grant you access to our development site, if you want. Please tell me where to send the details to.

    Hey!

I’m having this problem as well. I’m using the plugin on a new site. I’ve tried adding a default thumbnail from the media library as well as adding from my local drive. In each case I get taken back to the dashboard and see a broken image icon.

    Hi Tricia,

Thanks for the report. Lea helped me debug the issue and there’s already a fix for that. A plugin update should follow soon.

Awesome! I’ll watch for it. Thanks much!
