default themes twenty somethings

  • Is there a difference using one of default themes such as the current year’s (i.e. 2022)vs a previous year’s default theme such as 2015 through 2021 etc…. Answer in terms of capabilities but especially in terms of security. Or, even if a default theme is several years old (i.e. 2016) as long as i keep it updated, it is not less secure than the current year’s default theme? That is what I especially want to know…

  • As far as I know, all standard themes of the past years are being developed further. I.e. you will also receive security updates in any case. There are also feature additions or changes from time to time, most recently especially for compatibility with the not-so-new block editor Gutenberg.
