Default thank you page/order received not showing content

    Hi,

    I recently realized that the default WooCommerce page my customers are sent to after completing their transaction is now empty. Before, there was a table with the products ordered, and the order total, but now it only displays a generic thank you message and nothing else.

    I am using the [woocommerce_checkout] short code in my checkout page because the gift-card plugin I use is not compatible with WooCommerce Blocks yet.

    I tried the following troubleshooting steps:

    • Deactivating all plugins (except WooCommerce) and using Twenty-Twnety Four as a default theme, but the issue persists. See screenshot: https://ibb.co/VSd3D9D
    • I reviewed the error_log and saw these errors which seem unrelated to the issue:

    Hi there, @kaylynnejohnson! Thanks for the detailed description of what you’ve tried so far.

    I had a look at your site, found a product, and checked out. It looks like the page designated as your checkout page does actually use the Checkout block, and that might be the problem.

    Can you please go to WP Admin > WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced, and check if the Checkout page setting reflects the page on which you’re using the [woocommerce_checkout] shortcode?

    If both the page you use the block on and the other you use the shortcode on, have the same title, verify you’ve assigned the right one by referring to the Page ID. You can find the page ID by going to WP Admin > Pages, hovering over the page title to reveal the the Edit link, and if you hover over that, you’ll see the Page ID in the browser’s status bar at the bottom (post=9, in this case).

    Once you have the page ID, compare it to the Advanced > Checkout page setting.

    The Page ID is visible in the Page setup settings

    I suspect that, on your site, they may not match. While it’s possible to use the checkout shortcode on any page and the checkout itself will work, if you didn’t set that setting to the same page, it will send the customer to a different page (that might not work).

    Hi @eastofwest and thank you for your fast reply!

    Yesterday, I had a huge issue on the website. I was using the classic WooCommerce shortcode and somehow, people were not able to connect to an existing account from the checkout page when trying to complete their order.

    When their entered their credentials, the same page loaded back again, without an error message. The only way people were able to get through with their orders was to login in the My Account page, and then go back to the checkout page.

    I tried the DIVI WooCommerce modules, but the issue remained.

    The only way I could get the login through checkout to work was by reverting to the WooCommcerce Blocks checkout page.

    However, the issue of the Thank You page being empty remains.

    I checked the page ID in the advanced settings and it is the same as the checkout page, as you can see on attached screenshots:

    Because of the user login issue at checkout and the empty thank you page, I am starting to think this might be a database issue?

    I do hope we can find a solution.

    The next troubleshooting step I will take is making a fresh WordPress and WooCommerce install, than importing only the DIVI pages and then importing the orders of the last year (the website has been up since 2018 and has more than 20,000 orders…).
