Default sitemap doesn’t work

  • Hello to all,
    on one of the sites that I have updated to release 5.5, the sitemap does not work.
    If I write the url */wp-sitemap.xml it returns me a 404 page.
    What could affect its functioning?

    Do you have another plugin that provides a sitemap on that site?

    nope.

    I tried the diagnostic mode with Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin, but it keeps giving me error 404.

    404s indicate some sort of issue with your permalinks or .htaccess file.

    1. How is your site hosted?
    2. What happens if you just go to SETTINGS->Permalinks and click “save” — this will flush and reset the permalink cache.
    3. What’s in your .htaccess file?
