Hi, I ran into this problem that the products that the plugin WooCommerce offers cannot be downloaded offline.

I mean the products that are located behind the address \wp-content\plugins\woocommerce\sample-data\sample_products.csv When I tried import this file I have errors on downloading path

    I did it without Internet.

Could you make it possible that if user see in logfile what was the problem in Import files he can step back position of downloading and choose position Do Not Import?

    Hi there!

To make sure that we are on the same page, it looks like you want a functionality to go back when an import fails due to any error and select whether you wish to import that field or not, right?

If so, I would like to let you know that such functionality would require restoring your site to a previous stage before the import file was imported so it can work, and that would involve backups functionalities at play which probably could lead to many issues.

The current way it works is the best way because it lets you decide whether you want to import a field/column. However, I understand your point here, and it would be great, honestly.

It would be great to have you add your ideas as a feature request, which is where developers go to look for future plugin features and improvements. So they can see decide later if it would be a good fit for WooCommerce Core.

If there is anything else I can do for you, just let me know.

    Best,

    Yes, you are right.

Unfortunately, I just started learning about the plugin and on the first day I could not deliver default goods without an Internet connection. I realized that the plugin has problems if there is no internet. It’s sad.

Is it really hard to abort a query and start it with the correct values if it still fails when an error occurs?

    Hi there @blackstar1991

From what I gather, you have just started familiarizing yourself with the WooCommerce plugin, and have chosen to do this with an installation on your local machine. Correct?

My suggestion would be to go ahead with using a plugin like Local, for creating and managing your WordPress installations locally.

Furthermore, feel free to check out the following plugins, for keeping backups at every stage that you need; thus, making it a breeze to revert to the desired values, should an error occur.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know. We’re happy to help.

    Thanks for help

    Hi,

    I understand your point.

It would be great if WooCommerce implements that functionality. Please note, as explained by Gabriel, that is not easy to implement. Please be advised, that a website main functionality is to stay connected to the internet all the time.

I can see in the error log that the file needs access to the web in order to import an image from a URL. An alternative solution is to load the CSV without the
Images
column, that way, the file will load the product info except images, then once you’re connected to the web you can upload only the images (The file will need the ID, SKU, and images columns).

    Kind regards.
