• I recently had to rebuild a site with a clean installed WP.
There were a few default plugins listed, one of which (I think) was called WP Cron.
I couldn’t find out what it did, and I knew it hadn’t been there on the previous installation of the site, so I uninstalled it. I think there may have been another plugin I uninstalled, but can’t remember.

I’m now having a problem installing another plugin, and one of the “known issues” mentions WP Cron.

Was uninstalling WP Cron a bad idea, (did I uninstalling it) and of the default plugins, which are significantly beneficial?

“WP Cron” is not a “default plugin”. How did you install WordPress? The only plugins installed, by default, are akismet, and “hello dolly”, neither of which is activated.
