• Can anyone tell me the code for the default page widget? I think (hope?) once I saw it I could toss it into a plugin file and tweak it to get what I want out of it, but when I open widgets.php in the includes directory and do a search for the term ‘page’, nothing at all comes up. I’m confused and a bit overwhelmed!

  • You may want to consider customizing the page widget from your theme, rather than the wordpress core files. Most times, the default widgets for a particular theme can be found in the sidebar.php file in that themes directory.

I did that, but my edits disappear as soon as I start putting in other widgets in the admin area.
