Dear sirs, is it possible the default option for auto watermark, when uploading the images, to be OFF instead ON? I will not use watermark image very often, so for me this option is better to be OFF for daily use.

    Hello,

Sure! You can set that in the Watermark options on the Watermark edit page in the “Applying Rules” box (Separately for each of your Watermarks).

If you unmark this option for each of your Watermarks, no images will be watermarked anymore during upload.

Thanks, that was exactly what I looked for…

    Hi annaszalkiewicz,

I followed your instructions above and the watermark is not being automatically being applied. However, the switch is still on. Not sure how to apply a watermark if needed? I tried turning the switch off but that didn’t work.

    Your help is much appreciated.

    Hi Fabio,

If your watermarks don’t have the Auto Watermark option enabled, the images won’t get watermarked even if the switch is on.

There can be a case that one of your watermarks has the Auto Watermark option enabled, and the other one – disabled. Then if your switch is on during upload, the first watermark will get applied, the second won’t as it’s disabled. If you switch off Auto Watermark during upload, no watermark will be applied during this upload, even if the feature is enabled in the specific watermark settings.

This can be confusing while both watermarks (or the only one) haven’t got the Auto Watermark option enabled and the switch is still available; we’ve added the issue to our backlog list.

I hope this clears the doubts of the first issue.

As for applying watermark if needed, please see the Easy Watermark documentation here.

    Hi

So, I double-checked my settings, and both the text and image watermark “Automatically apply this watermark during image upload” are turned off. However, the button in the media library is still turned on.

Even though the watermark is not applied, I still need a way to have the watermark applied to odd images. Since the button now has no relevance (either on or off), the manner in which you have illustrated it in your documentation is fine if a user has access to the backend media library.

Our site allows users to upload images to their own folders. However, the edit image feature was turned off by using CSS display:none; due to the user being thrown out of the media library and back to the home page. This can simply be turned back on as soon I figure out how the user can edit their own images on the front end.

FYI: The user does have upload and edit rights but nothing is working.
They also have the following turned on:
    Allow to create watermarks
    Allow to edit others watermarks
    Allow to apply watermarks

Sorry for the long-winded reply. Just seeking some help.

    Hi,

I understand now the problem. So, you would need to have the Auto Watermark feature turned on on your watermarks settings and control it by the switch during upload indeed.

Unfortunately, right now we don’t have an option to set the Auto Watermark switch itself off by default. Thank you for reporting and explaining this issue, we’ve added this matter to our backlog list and we will definitely add this feature in the future, I’m not sure though when exactly you can expect that to happen.
