    Hello,

The site language set in General Settings does not affect TranslatePress. The back-end will appear translated in the language set for this option, but it does not impact the front-end once a translation plugin is active on the site

Changing the default language (from TranslatePress Settings) will invalidate existing translations. We can’t keep them because the translations are directional, from the default language to the additional language, and you’ll also need to change all your content directly into the new language (Vietnamese).

The default language is the language your content was written in.

If you want another language to be the first language, then simply enable:

    • Use TranslatePress -> Settings -> Subdirectory for default language -> Yes
    • Reorder the languages

In this case, you cannot change the default language while keeping the translations intact. After changing the default language, all content will need to be added only in the new default language (Vietnamese).
Unfortunately, this cannot be changed, and there is no workaround, as this is the functionality of the plugin.

    Kind regards,

    Anca
