Default Image Resizer not working after server move

Hey guys,
I recently made the move to a VPS server and imported the whole WP installation pretty much in tact. The only issue I have now is with the image uploader. The images upload fine via the the Flash uploader, but thumbnails are not generated … the original image works though…im on WP 2.9.2 btw
The media directory has write permissions as well…
