    Hello,

Quick question: Should the default blog of a MS install have its uploads folder inside blogs.dir?

I’ve just implemented MS on a fresh install, and the only blog I have currently is the default one… Its uploads folder is set to:

    wp-content/uploads

Just wondering if I need to change something here? Does the default network blog not use blogs.dir?

I just want to make sure I have things setup right before I add more blogs.

    Thanks!
    Micky

  • Heya mhulse,

Yup, just add another blog site to your WPMS install and you’ll see the next one has “wp-content/blogs.dir/2/files” as the destination for the uploads.

The quick and easy place to check this out is in your Network Admin back end, click on “Sites” in the left nav bar then choose the site you want to check on, roll over that section of the list, click on the “Settings” tab and scroll down to “Upload Path” to see the actual directory where that blog site will store uploaded files.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

Awesome!!!! thank you Bodlygoing, I really appreciate the help!!!

So, just to confirm, I don’t need to change anything? In other words, my default blog _is_ using the right upload folder?

    Thanks again! ??

    Cheers,
    Micky

From what you posted here, I would say no need to fix what isn’t broken!

    Get to blogging!

    Cheers!

Yes ?? The first site uses wp-content/uploads, and the rest use wp-content/blogs.dir (but looks like it’s using /files).

    You’re okay.
