• Is the default behaviour defined somewhere? I can’t find anything in the docs.
When I type a link in the visual editor while entering a new post nothing happens to it. It stays simple text.
When I type the same link as a comment it is converted to a clickable link.
I can use a plugin to simulate the same behaviour for posts. Of course I can use the “enter link” functionality of the visual editor.

With drupal you have a auto convert URL and EMails function without having something like a wysiwyg-Editor.

I’m a bit confused about this behaviour.

    regards

  • Links aren’t converted automatically when you’re writing a comment, the conversion is done on submission.

With posts, the post editor provides a link button and therefore links are not converted automatically.

Writing an article and writing a comment about an article are not the same thing, so technically they shouldn’t be treated the same, since the post editor provides much more extensive functionality and control over the content it doesn’t assume a URL is a link.. it leaves it to your discretion, as to whether you want that text to be a link or not.

Comments are different, if you’re writing a URL in a comment, generally you intend for that text to be a link, the same is not necessarily true of an article/post.

    At least that’s my understanding anyway… ??

I’d imagine it’s defined with TinyMCE.
