• One thing that has always bothered me about WordPress, if I am logged in, and have a site of 30 authors/users, why can’t my name be selected automatically from the author pop-up list when making a post?

i.e. I go to make a post, I have to use the pop-up list of authors to find my name in the list. It knows that I am logged in, why not have it default to me? If I want to change it, that’s fine, but why create work if you don’t have to!?

Has this point been addressed in 3.x? Am I missing something? Maybe something via functions?

    thanks!

  • That isn’t the default behaviour AFAIK….

I have never had to select my name from the list….. maybe a plugin conflict or something?

So you are saying, even if your WordPress has 100 users, when you make a post, it is always defaulted to your name (that you logged under)?

I’ve never found that to be the case over the years with WP.

I will try disabling all plugins to see if that is the cause.. I think not as I have used various plugs over the years and always had that ‘issue’

    Thanks
