Deeplink juggernaut not working if anchor text contains bracket

Automatic linking seems to be generally working fine. If I have anchor text that contains brackets, it does not work. For example:
Text (something else)
will result in no links for that anchor.
Is this a known issue, a bug, or perhaps requires special escaping (I’ve tried a few variations)?
