• Hello! I’ve installed the Nimble portfolio and it looks great. I’d love to be able to link directly to a filter, however. So that when a user clicks on a link, it goes to the portfolio, pre-filtered to a single filter, if that makes sense.

So if I have filters for Blog, Print, Photography, I’d like a link to ‘Blog’ that will display photos that have been filtered to Blog.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

  • Hello IceyD–

I was looking to do the exact same thing on one of my sites, and while I haven’t gotten it how I want it, I have come up with a workaround for now. Visit https://patrickmacdonald.net/ and click on the Porthouse Theatre link to see it in action.

The main portfolio page is at /portfolio/, but I have a filter named Porthouse Theatre with the slug porthouse, so you can see all of the items with that filter at /portfolio-filter/porthouse/.

I wish I could just have it list the thumbnails (like it does on the portfolio page) but I haven’t had any luck with that yet.

    Hi Alex!

I’ve found a workaround myself, actually. I don’t think the deep-linking function is available with this plugin, so I downloaded Essential Grid, which allows for deep-linking. I do like the layout of Nimble, so I combined them both—I use Essential Grid for the portfolio/grid, and Nimble Portfolio for each portfolio post.

Or, you could just go with Essential Grid, which works pretty well for my needs.

    Thanks for your response!

That sounds like a great option! I’d love to see that in action — do you have a link you could sent me?
