Dedicated IP address for SSL

  • I am new to WordPress.
    I am ordering my hosting service now.

    I am asked by the hosting service if I’d like to pay $2.00 per month for a dedicated IP address for SSL.

    Is a dedicated IP address for SSL necessary for WordPress?

  • No, not as far as I know…. BUT that’s a DAMN good price so just take it – you’ll find a use for it eventually, and what host is this might one ask?
