• I know I talked about this before but it keeps on happening. I start off using a shortcode block and put all my stuff in. It all looks fine.

But when I edit the page the block is never initially looking OK and I have to choose “convert to html” and it is OK again.

I would like to suggest a dedicated codecolour block. In addition, to consider exposing many of the settings on the panel on the right for the block. There is a rich set of settings and it is hard to remember and I always have to find the web page.

Another handy thing is to allow us to state the highlight numbers relative to the start number. It catches me out so often. Highlight is always based from 1. But in terms of line numbers it is relative to my actual start number. I always have to paste into notepad to work out the 1 based line numbers.

I think all the above would make for a fantastic plugin double-fantastic.

    Hi Andrew,

I have started working on Gutenberg integration a while ago, but there is no release date I can promise [yet]. The change is pretty big, as it requires a lot more client-side changes, and I am still learning the ropes to make it work. Options are the easiest part, but the layout/formatting/editing part is pretty tricky.

Good catch on the highlight numbers! Will make sure it is fixed as well.

    Thank you

Thanks for the speedy reply. ?? It is great to know that you are working on Gutenberg integration. If you need beta testing at some point let me know and I can try it with my pages on my site. Or a copy in the staging area.

Even if you could offer the options as a starter. Interestingly, “Shortcodes Ultimate” now have a toolbar icon and it creates a dedicated block so they must be following the same principle. I do not know if their plugin is in the public domain for you to review.

I’m also extremely interested in a dedicated Gutenberg block for this plugin. I’ve been building a website for a while now and have been wanting to use this plugin since day 1, but haven’t started using it yet because it doesn’t support Gutenberg.

I’m hoping it gets support soon, then I can finally replace all my Code blocks with Code Colorer blocks.

I have not had any replies for sometime now. I am not sure of the authors circumstances now. Previously he was very quick at support. Hopefully we hear soon.
