Decrypting Local Backup fails 90% of time
-
Since I upgraded to 3.0/3.0.1, I wanted to use local scheduled backups with encryption. Unfortunately when I tested whether I can actually decrypt those backup, basically ALL of the encrypted files fail to decrypt. So this functionality is currently broken and useless.
Please note that (compared to other similar posts here in the support forum), I never downloaded or uploaded those files. I run backups locally and then directly try to decrypt them, without any previous download and upload, so that files cannot get “screwed up” by that.
The current “workaround” is to continue with manual backups that are NOT encrypted to begin with, then to immediately download and remove them from the site (for security reasons). But this can only be a workaround, that this does not allow me to run scheduled backups.
Note that this happens on two different sites, that are hosted on 2 different providers. System details below, for both providers.
