That thread — which addresses another, unrelated query — has also been marked [resolved]. It (along with its closing response, “There isn’t a way to do this out of the box with Decode, sorry. If you have WordPress or PHP knowledge …”) appears to suggest that there will be no “follow up”, rather, a dead end. Which, if true, would a disappointment, considering that the Decode theme has many strengths to recommend it; and adjusting it to play well with JetPack would have addressed one of its few weaknesses.

I wish that you would reconsider addressing something which is not a feature request to extend the theme’s functionality, but a bug report about an existing element of the theme which is not working reliably with one of WordPress’s own extensions.

Ok, yeah I totally screwed up my bad. Please accept my sincere apologies, I’ve had higher than usual levels of support I’ve had to deal with, but that’s no excuse for not addressing this better.

With that aside, good news! I’ve fixed this. Will be released in Decode 3.0.1. See this for the fix if you want to graft it on to your theme without waiting for an update.

Providing support for a theme (and a free one, at that) is a considerable burden, especially when the platform (and its extensions) are updating continuously: It must be like trying to hit a moving target. I appreciate the attention — and the time (on a holiday, too) you have taken.
