Hi Nick, looks like an excellent plugin! I’m a Genesis user. I haven’t installed it yet but will be doing so in a few minutes but I don’t seem to be able to grasp the concept. I watched your video but it’s also 3 years old, so not sure if the new version has much more options.

In your demo the two sample texts you use are pretty much the same size. However, my client has LONG articles, and I wonder how I would use your plugin, where I would enter the shortcode, and how many times. I just want a simple two (2) columns layout. But it has to not look too uneven at the bottom, on the last row.

She has a title with description, so that would be full width, but then the text starts and would require two columns to be set up. Then it would stop to make way for the next titles and description.

I gather the plugin does not measure and adjust the columns automatically? But would you have a tip so we don’t have to do this entirely manually with trial and error?

    Many thanks!

    Andre

    Hi Andre,

While I am glad you are interested in this plugin, I recommend you take advantage of the new column layouts in the new WordPress editor. This plugin was built prior to the release of Gutenberg when creating columned layouts was much more of a challenge. Today, what you are looking for can easily be accomplished with the new editor in the latest versions of WordPress.

    Best,

Thank you Nick, I admit that I’m not keen on Gutenberg after what happened when I updated the WP version last. All of a sudden I could not find the post’s “text” I was working on, it freaked me out a little. I had to install the “classic editor” plugin to go back to work quickly and finish.

Thing is, my client is in her late 70s, and I’m not sure how she would find her way through Gutenberg at the moment. I, on the other hand, have little excuse, so I’m going to be watching tutorial videos.

And, I haven’t yet updated to Genesis 3.0 either. Waiting for the possible kinks to be dealt with.

In the meantime, I will try to do some maths with word count, and see how that works. And I WILL have to eventually figure Gutenberg out. ??

    Best regards,

    Andre
