Deceptive. This is not a free plug in
-
I use authy to sign into a major website because authy is what they offer for two factor authentication. So far so good. So I thought I would add that to my wordpress site. The authy description in wordpress says “get your FREE api key”, doesn’t say anything about just being a 30 free trial. Didn’t need to go to authy’s website to sign up for a key for the other site, but ok. So I take the time to sign up at authy, still no mention of it being a PAID plugin (unless it was buried in the terms of service somewhere, which is probably why you have to go to their site, WP probably wouldn’t allow it) go back to my site and put in the api to find I just signed up for a 30 free trial so I should “enter my credit card info.”
If you want to peddle paid plugins on wordpress, you should disclose that. If you had disclosed it was only a free trial, I would not have installed it and would have just moved on to the many free plugins instead. I feel not disclosing it’s a paid plugin until after siging up is decptive. Authy, you owe me 15 minutes of life.
