After reading the description, available plugin information, and looking at the screen shots, Yesterday, I installed it — The ‘Authors’ have put together a great marketing ‘brochure” to promote their plugin! It boasts:

“Create responsive data tables with sorting, searching, pagination, filtering and more. Easy-to-use tables, charts and data management.”

“Create diagrams, charts and graphics instantly and with lots of essential parameters, that you dreamed about for such a long time!”

So, to test it out, I inserted some test data in a table and clicked to transform the data into a Chart – surprise, surprise! it opens the page to go ‘PRO’ and pay for it.

I understand that as a business, they a have the right to charge for their work and product. But, it is the deceptive marketing tactic that makes it a ‘Bait and Switch’ operation rather than an honest business.

The plugin description no where states that those features (generating Google charts) are NOT included in the free version.

    That’s not Not Good!

Note 1: I use a lot of Freemium Plugins. All the ones that I use clearly describe what features are included in the free version and what is available in the paid (pro) version.

Note 2 – to the authors: If the chart conversion feature is available in the free version, and I somehow overlooked it, please advise and I will update this review.

Update Note – The plugin Authors responded that they will be taking corrective steps to fix the issue of ‘deceptive description’. With that done, users will have a clear idea of what they are getting. I am also changing my rating – to a sort of neutral, to 3 star.

@parwaiz-khan I’m leaving this review in place for now but ““Deceptive Description OR Bait and Switch!” and those tags (also removed) are abusive.

You can leave feedback if you like. But when it becomes “SHOUTY! TITLE! BAD!” then you’re being inappropriate. Please don’t do that here.

    Hi Jan,
Thank you for your comment – and, the rebuff.

I prefer not to post negative reviews – all the other reviews that I have posted for many of the plugins and themes are very positive.

Plugin and theme developers and contributors at WordPress are doing a great job – we all appreciate it.

But, in between there are a few exploiters also who are trying to take undue advantage of others. This is not good.

When someone is simply trying to manipulate and exploit the users at the WordPress, we all have a duty to inform the fellow users.

BTW, did you check back into the description of that plugin? Isn’t it deceptive and Bait-and-switch tactic? Don’t the user of WordPress have the right to know what those plugin developers are doing?

In contrast to that plugin by Supsystic (that I deleted from my site), check out the plugins and themes – and their straight forward descriptions, like the ‘Posts in sidebars’, ‘Tablepress’, ‘Hueman’, and ‘Customizr’ etc. All superb and honest. We respect and love those hardworking developers.

Anyhow, I am also going to change the subject of my review (to make it more “acceptable’ with your perspective) that you found “SHOUTY”. [Hope I will be able to figure out how to edit it]

Finally, thank you for investing your time and doing your best to moderate the forums for all of us. We appreciate it.

    Best Regards.

    Hello Supsystic Team,

Thank you for responding and promising to fix your description of the plugin to clearly state what is available as ‘Free’ and what feature are the ‘Premium’ ones. I have updated my review to reflect it.

BTW, I have deleted your Plugin from my site as I have found a much better one (TablPress) – you may want to look into it. It is amazing – well thought, well designed, and superbly executed. It is what one could expect from the work of a PhD in Cybernetics.

Hope others will find yours’ the same way. We all appreciate the work of developers who give us great themes and plugins.

    Best Regards.

    Thank you for your response!
We appreciate your opinion and that you shared your experience. It is really important for both – for developers and customers
You say the plugin you found – “TablPress” is amazing.
May you write 3-5 specific features and properties that are better than ours.
It will be so useful for our team. Becouse, in our paradigm, our plugin is the best and we cannot understand how to improve it. However, we see that it is not as popular as TablePress.
Perhaps your feedback will help change the paradigm of us. Honestly, we want to be exactly those developers who give customers the greatest plugins

    Hello Supsystic Team,

Thank you for asking for my input as to why I find the TablePress a better plugin.
To give you a perspective, I am pasting below my review of the ‘TablePress’ that I have posted on that plugin’s page – It will give you all the input that you asked for. Here it is:

“TablePress is certainly one of the best table maker plugin for the?WordPress?publishing platform. It is a well thought, well designed, well coded, highly versatile, and complete plugin that gives the user complete control in styling, appending, manipulating, and updating the tables.

Working with the TablePress is very intuitive: data can be entered either manually or via uploading a CSV, HTML, JSON, XLS, or XLSX file. Rows, Columns, cells, or any element of the table can be targeted via simple CSS from within the ‘Plugin Options’. Tables / elements can also be manipulated individually or as ‘groups’ by declaring them in the ‘Extra CSS Classes’ field (from within the ‘Plugin Options’ page).

Documentation of the plugin is also well thought out – clear, concise, and complete. No gimmicky and distracting graphics. Neither there is any ambiguity or misinformation.

On top of it all is the amazing support from the plugin Author/Developer, Tobias. He states that he is a PhD student in the field of “Engineering Cybernetics”. And, this well thought plugin testifies to it. It is the work of someone who is accustomed of doing thorough PhD grade Research and Thesis work – clean, clear, and bug free.

He responds quickly to any valid request for help. His ability to provide help and support to the users shows his depth of knowledge in the field of web development and the WordPress framework itself.

Plugin is completely free. He requests a ‘donation’ of $9 for the ‘TablePress Extensions’ that provide some extra ‘responsive’ functionality features. I have not tried it, so no comments on it. The only thing I can say is that the author of the plugin is upfront – TablePress by itself is a very useful, complete, and fully functional plugin.

My salutes and thanks to the author, Tobias, for giving us a very useful and elegant plugin.”

    Wishing you all the Best.
    Parwaiz
