Debugging Shortcode in Add HTML before event content

    A shortcode for a plugin is not working when added to Settings -> Display -> Additional Content -> Add HTML before event content.

    Shortcodes from other plugins work and I have made sure the shortcode is pasted as text. The shortcode in question works when it is added to a page.

    Can someone suggest how I can go about testing and debugging why this one particular plugin’s shortcode isn’t working?
