Hi. When someone checks out using the debit/credit card option, the address information that they have entered into my own site isn’t carried across to the PayPal debit/credit card form. This means that the person has to fill out their billing details twice.

Please see the following image for what I mean: https://ibb.co/rQDd0vd

As you can see, the person has filled in my form with their billing details and now when they click the ‘Debit or Credit Card’ checkout button, they’ve got to fill it all in again. I’m not sure if I’m missing some setting, but there seems to be some issue with this. As you can see, not even the country flag is set correctly.

I notice that if the billing address on my site’s form is a United States address, then the person will only be presented with a short PayPal debit/credit card form to fill out. But if the address is a non-US address, like the example image above, they get this whole long form they have to fill out instead of it being autopopulated from what they’ve already just filled in for my site.

    Hey there!

This is the expected function of the plugin/ service. PayPal Checkout is designed to bypass your site checkout entirely, and not use any info from the site while checking out. It will not pull any info from your site checkout at all. It’s designed mainly to be used in place of the checkout, not on the checkout page.

If you would like to have the info input into your checkout fields be sent to PayPal, I would recommend not using PayPal Checkout on the WooCommerce checkout page, and instead use PayPal Standard on the WooCommerce checkout page.

Hopefully that helps! Have a great one!

…PayPal Checkout isn’t supposed to be used for checkout? Okay. Right.

I see lots of people have brought this issue up with you guys and it seems like you’re perhaps not quite understanding. All we want is for the billing fields in the WooCommerce form to carry across to the billing fields in the debit/credit card form in exactly the same way the shipping fields do, and which is exactly how it should be. You keep telling people it’s working how it should. It isn’t. The shipping definitely is. The billing is not.

Please take a look at this image — https://ibb.co/ym2GXRG — as you can see, shipping information is carried over perfectly into the form if the person chooses a different shipping address. Why isn’t billing information carried over in the same way? That’s all all of us are asking for.

    Thanks!

Marking this as resolved, as what you are seeing and describing with the billing info not being sent over is correct. If the shipping info is filled in, it’s likely being done by your browser or an extension
