    Hi,

    I have had customers of my company’s website reporting issues (in last 2 days) with card payments being processed via this PayPal Payments gateway. I have done my own diagnosis first and can see it only seems to happen on an iPhone. They click the ‘Debit / Credit Card’ option which loads the card fields, then they are asked to complete 2 factor verification with their chosen bank. After inputting their OTP for verification, it loads a ‘Log in to PayPal’ lightbox window. As these customers don’t have PayPal necessarily, they close the window which then shows the card fields with a spinning wheel and a lock icon. Obviously an action doesn’t complete correctly and they get stuck here and never complete the order.

    Yes, the other thread seems to be similar, and I have just replied to this the following:
    I see that you are using the Standard Card Processing option (BCDC) and not our Advanced Card Processing option (ACDC). The BCDC payment method is completely controlled from the PayPal server and is only triggered/initialized by our plugin. Our plugin does not have any control over this payment method. If you want to continue using BCDC, you should reach out to?PayPal Merchant Technical Support?and ask them to review the Transaction ID’s that are related to these failures and see if they can find what is causing this issue. You can also activate the logging function within our plugin and see if this will show any logs that could help us identify this issue.

    My preferred option, is to activate ACDC and see if this payment method does work without these failures. In order to use ACDC, you will need to go through the onboarding/vetting process, so that PayPal can approve you for using this payment method. This is automatically done, when you onboard the PayPal account to the plugin, while you have selected the advanced card processing option (by default it will be set to BCDC).

    One last option you could try is to test the payment option using sandbox accounts. You could test this in a staging site, so that you don’t have to affect your live site.

    Thanks Joost,

    This does seem to solve the issue I was having. Only problem I have now is the styling of the Advanced Card Processing. The way it fits into my theme is a little clunky and needs sorting. The input fields are not positioned very well. But I appreciate that is a styling issue I will need to figure out myself!
