dealing with localhost installs

I just purchased IThemes Security to prevent future hacking of my site (hosted with Dreamhost). I develop my site locally, and some of the features of IThemes don’t work, like the Securi scan. Also I set up 2FA, which seems to have been a mistake, as I don’t think my MAMP setup can send email … I never got the email. I never got a password recovery email either.

How should one go about developing a local site with IThemes Security before deploying it to production where I really want it to have those features?
