    Good-day,

I’ve created a child theme and in that theme I’ve created a page template based on the page.php file from the parent theme. Everything seems to be working fine, however, I have noticed that when I make a page a child of another it no longer renders in the browser. I get a 404 error but if I remove the parent assignment then the page displays fine.

Is there something in the template or the child theme I may be missing that could be causing this?

Please do not put [Dealership by Gorilla Themes] (now deleted) in your topic titles. That’s not how these forums work.

If you can, switch to the Twenty Sixteen theme and see if you can reproduce the problem without a commercial theme.

If it is your theme, then for pro or commercial product support please contact the author directly on their site.

As the author is aware, commercial products are not supported in these forums. As you are their customer I am sure they will have no problem supporting you there.

Thank you, I appreciate your understanding.

I really hate it when subjects are marked resolved when they are not! Can these type of posts not be deleted!
