Deactivated the plugin and my website only pulled up white pages. Once I reinstalled the plugin then the site worked just fine. Why is this? Where are all of my files gone to? How can I them back and still used the plugin with the freedom to deactivate?

Do you have some custom code or other plugin added to your site that tries to interact with UpdraftPlus?

UpdraftPlus has no code that runs upon de-activation; if UpdraftPlus is removed, it’s just the same as if it was never there at all. So, this suggests that there is some other component that has been added that expects it to be there.

What is logged in your PHP error logs at the time when the white screen is seen? If you don’t know where to find your PHP error logs, then you should ask your web hosting company (because where to find them varies between hosting companies), and they can tell you.

Hey David, no custom code. As you know plugins can effect another. I was going through and updating the plugins. I found it weird. I will check the PHP error logs. Is there anything particular I would be looking for? I appreciate your assistance and insight.
