Once the plugin is deactivated, none of its configuration settings or WP options have any effect. The only options Role Scoper changes are WP role defs (if you click the sync box on RS Role Defs tab) and ‘category_children’, which gets cleared on deactivation. You can use a WP role editor to confirm that your role defs are normal.

It is possible that there are other configuration issues on your site which Role Scoper was smoothing over.

    This is what I did.

I deactivated all plugins except Role Scoper. The posts are still showing, no problem.

While all plugins deactivated, I then deactivated Role Scoper, and every post becomes 404.

I must have done something to affect the WP Roles. Is there a magic button to perhaps revert it to default so I can deactivate RS without a hitch?

Never mind, I solved this problem by removing the Custom Post Type first which was declared in my functions.php. That explains why despite deactivating all the plugins, RS broke my site.
