• Hello, sorry to open a tpic for this subject. It probably has already been discussed. I can’t find however the answer to this (seemingly ?) simple problem.

When I upload an image in the WordPress editor, inside my article and then upload the article, I see that it’s automatically putting a figcaption. However, I do not want any of that stuff. I tried deleting but no success. It seems I can only replace it.

    Any ideas here ?

  • When I upload an image in the WordPress editor, inside my article and then upload the article, I see that it’s automatically putting a figcaption.

This is not the default behaviour with the native block editor that comes with WordPress.

I just inserted an image into a post, and the Caption field was not even visible in the editor by default. I had to click the “Add Caption” button in the image toolbar to have the Caption field to enter a caption.

And even if the Caption field is visible under images in your editor, as long as you don’t enter any caption text, the figcaption element will not be added to the front end at all.

The above is the case with the block editor that comes with WordPress. If you’re using a 3rd-party page builder plugin then it’s that plugin that may be doing this. Consult the documentation or support of that plugin for help.

    Good luck!
