• I’m on a very beefy dedicated server with nginx and varnish, but when I just deactivated the W3 Total Cache plugin, the server went into overload and I’m unable to get into my wp-admin even to just reactivate it to see if that will solve this problem.

I’m wondering if I have to delete the plugin entirely. I tried the blank master.php attempt but that hasn’t helped. Just talking to my hosting (InMotion), and they’ve been flooded with calls with the same W3 Total Cache problems.

They had pushed W3 Total Cache on me after I was using WP Super Cache, and now they’re suggesting to everyone to go back to Super Cache.

If anyone else had this happen and figured out a solution, please share.

    Thanks!

To login to the backend, you may probably have to.

I run Nginx and Varnish with W3 Total Cache plugin, without any issues, even though W3 Total Cache doesn’t do ‘page caching’ in that setup. ‘Page caching’ is handled by Varnish.

If it happens for most people in the same host, it is likely to be an issue with hosting setup. In that case, you may probably have to wait until your host resolves the issue.

thankfully, nearly 24 hours later, my hosting Advanced team has been able to get into the backend.

I have Nginx, Varnich, APC and W3 Total Cache and just deactivating the plugin last night sent everything into quite the tailspin. It’s a great plugin, but just one little thing can send it off which isn’t always good for most WP users.

Do you know what was the precise cause of the crash. It sounds like not all files were properly removed upon deactivation. If plugin cannot automatically remove files there should be an Uninstall link to properly remove files. If everything is resolved can you mark thread as resolved?

I deactivated the W3 TC plugin and the site went down completely. It also happened when your associate (from your paid service) installed it on the my server and it brought everything down then too.

I’ve since moved to a much bigger server, and your associate was supposed to help configure it (again from your additional paid service), but I’ve not heard a word back from him this week. I’ll assume that job won’t be completed, and will be requesting a refund as Liquid Web has gotten everything configured along with the new W3 Total Cache.

    Thank you

    Hi Frederick,

Just checking to see if your associate Willie is in. I’ve attempted to e-mail him last Monday and yesterday and have not heard anything back. I also e-mailed through your website w3edge about the services I had pre-paid for.

I also cc’d you on the e-mail about the lack of response as back up.

Please let me know if I can expect to get a refund for services not rendered please. It was a rocky start when I first hired your company, but this has just gotten ridiculous for a paid service.
