• I’m sure this has been posted previously, but none of the previous posts were exactly what I was doing so thought I’d double check before going ahead.

I need to deactivate two plugins (one at a time) as a have a javascript error on my page and the animation in my theme no longer works.
One of the plugins is a large client portal plugin. The other is a backup plugin.

If I deactivate and then reactivate, will I lose:

    1. My previous plugin settings?
    2. Any info that the plugin stored? (ie. backups or client accounts)

    TIA!

  • You will not lose any information as all such information are stored in your database.

Thanks, that’s what I figured.. but I also won’t lose any settings that the plugin had?

    Another question is this.
Will deactivating and reinstalling plugins in general cause any problems in itself in terms of creating redundant files or making a mess of things on the backend?

Reinstalled plugins may have only their default settings. You may may need to reset them to your custom settings, if any.
