• I have tried to backup the db (as well as other backups – e.g., wp-config) to not avail.

DB Backup failed. Please check the permissions of the backup directory.

I have tried changing the permissions to 777, 666, and back to the pre-set 755. None of the permission settings will allow the plugin to conduct the required backups.

Any recommendations on the next step – if any?

  • What PHP handler is your server using? Please ask this question to your hosting provider (they will know the answer).

I’m told it is the standard php handler (version 5) for CentOS.

    Same problem here…

This usually always happens when there is a bit of a file permission issue on your server. Ask your hosting provider the following question:

When a plugin is trying to create a backup file, it is failing with a file permission warning. What should be the folder’s permission be set to so the plugin can create a file in there?

My account is woking on Apache Module and also can work in FGCI for example.
