im putting info in wp_config for a new site. it is a spanish site and hence i should put

    define(‘DB_COLLATE’, ‘utf8_spanish_ci’)

    instead of

    define(‘DB_COLLATE’, ”)

so letters used only in spanish get properly ordered. but codex advice not to change it because wordpress should chose the righ one during installation. i dont know how it is supposed to know it must be spanish if my host is not even spanish and server will be english.

Should i put utf8_spanish_ci collation. Could it cause any problem in wordpress to put it manually this way.

You should be okay as long as you change that before doing the installation.
