DB optimize option issue

    I noticed the same thing.

    I also noticed that the database size is not decreasing on sites that it used to after running the Optimization.

    Would love to understand what has changed.

    This is a different issue. To answer the question, while optimizing the tables will often reduce their size, it might sometimes actually increase it.
    Indeed, it is not compressing the tables, but doing something more like defragmenting, in order to improve performance, and not size.
