DB backup in the list disappears after restore

Hi clickmarketing,

Good spot! This is a new issue that came in in a recent version – UpdraftPlus was incorrectly detecting whether or not the backup file could be deleted post-restore from the local storage. (It is only meant to delete them if it knows it has another copy in cloud storage, e.g. Dropbox).

Now fixed – de-install and then re-install UpdraftPlus, and you’ll have the fix. Alternatively, update to the development version (https://updraftplus.com/faqs/devversion).

I installed the devversion 1.7.42 but the problem still exists. ??

Does the database come back if you press the ‘rescan’ link?

Yes and I also updated the plugin to V1.8.1 but but the problem still exists.

Hi,

If the database appears when you press ‘rescan’, then just press ‘rescan’. The reason why it disappears until after you do a restore after you press ‘rescan’ is because after you restore, you are restoring to the point in time before the backup was complete; at which point there was not yet a database in the backup set. The restore restores everything in your database – which includes UpdraftPlus’s records too.

Probably I should get UD to do an automatic rescan after a restore, but I need to think through the consequences of that.

Sorry, but I already pressed ‘rescan’ a lot of times but the DB backup still won’t reappear.

Can you update to the dev version – https://updraftplus.com/faqs/devversion – and then do a restore, and post the entire log file from the restore (using pastebin.com), please?

What method have you got selected under “Remote Storage”? Is it “email”?

The development version is 1.8.3 or later – 1.8.2 is the release version.

Remote storage is S3.

I can’t comment on that unless you post the log file for the backup run.
