day permalink or get_day_link problem

Hi,
I have a calendar widget that uses get_day_link with the dates to get the posts dated that particular day.
I have it working correctly on my server, however when I have moved the theme to another server, it is going one day out.

so on my server
link URL https://server.com/2014/08/01/
goes to
https://server.com/august-1-2014/

on the other server
link URL https://server2.com/2014/08/01/
goes to
https://server2.com/august-2-2014/
It always goes to one day after.

The permalinks are set to the same setting.
Could this be something to do with how the server is set up?
I can’t work out what it could be.
